Relaxation

Counteract Stress

We all seem to have such busy lives and relaxing sounds like such a luxury.  But relaxing is beneficial to our health and wellbeing.

Stress is an unavoidable part of life, but if left unmanaged it can lead to all sorts of health issues, including anxiety, depression, heart disease and a weakened immune system.

Incorporating regular relaxation practices into our daily routines can help counteract some of the negative effects of stress.

Recharge our Batteries

Relaxation does not need to be an occasional expensive luxury where you take yourself off to a spa day.  There are simple relaxation techniques that you can do wherever you are to help calm your mind, reduce tension and improve your mood.

Techniques such as deep breathing, meditation, yoga and mindfulness can enable us to disconnect from the constant demands of life and clear our minds for a while and recharge our batteries.

A Good Night's Sleep

Whilst we might think that we do not have time in our busy day to do these techniques, the resulting improved creativity, concentration and problem solving skills of clearing our minds, makes the time taken more than worthwhile.

Additionally, relaxation also contributes to a better nights sleep.  A good night’s sleep is vital for repairing and rejuvenating our bodies and this helps us get the most out of our days.

Although it can get lost in a sea of ‘things to do’ if we can integrate relaxation into our daily lives we will reap the benefits.
