Friendships
Companionship
Friendships can play a crucial role in people’s lives. They can be a great source of emotional support, offer different perspectives and simply be great companionship.
Friendships can lead to a happier life and increased life satisfaction but they have to be nurtured to achieve this.
Different Friends
As with other relationships, friendships will never be 100% plain sailing. Your friendships will have ups and downs. But no body is perfect and even if we have a differing opinion about something, it doesn’t mean the friendship is over. Differing opinions are good and give us different perspectives on life and situations.
It is good to have different types of friendships with lots of different people. Its okay to have one friend who we like to go on a night out with and dance the night away, a different friend we confide everything to, even things we would tell no one else, and friends who we enjoy talking to but wouldn’t confide our secrets to as we know they are not capable to keeping them.
We don’t need one friend to fulfil all of our friendship needs.
Not all Good
The wrong friendships can also be not so good and should be avoided. If we feel like a friend is taking advantage or not treating us right, then we have every right to keep our distance.
Remember that we need to put in effort with friends and work through any disagreements we may have. Try to keep in touch with them regularly, even if its just a simple message to see how they are doing. We never know when we may need a friend to turn to and when they might need us.
